Beste leden,
Zoals velen al hebben gemerkt worden de corona maatregelen overal versoepeld. In de regio zijn een aantal zwembaden nu (beperkt) toegankelijk voor banenzwemmen en als het goed is gaat 25 mei ook het Sterrenbad weer open voor regulier bezoek. Activiteiten in verenigingsverband zijn hier nog geen deel van. WZK Zwemmen streeft ervoor om op 2 Juni 2020 de activiteiten weer geleidelijk op te starten. Hierover zullen de afdelingen zelf de leden benaderen met meer informatie over hoe dit zal verlopen. Hou je mailbox dus goed in de gaten. Mocht je nu al ongeduldig raken dan kan je ook al meedoen aan landtrainingen. Ook hiervoor kan je het beste even contact zoeken met je eigen afdeling.
Het bestuur hoopt dat het opstarten van de activiteiten spoedig en zorgvuldig verlopen. We vragen daarom nog heel even geduld en hopen jullie snel weer te zien.
Dear members,
As many have noticed, corona measures are gradually being relieved. In our region several swimming pools have (with restrictions) opened up. If all goes according to plans then the Sterrenbad will open on the 25th of May 2020. This however does not mean that Club activities will be resumed at this date. We still expect to start up our activities (gradually) starting the 2nd of June 2020. Each sub-department will contact its own members about the gradual start and the specific details in regards to the pool activities, so please keep a close eye on your mailbox for that. If you cannot wait to get active again and you are not afraid of some land-based activities then we already offer some land-based training activities on the field behind the pool. Please consult your respective trainer/department for more information in regards to that.
The Board hopes that the restarting of our activities will be soon and in orderly fashioned. We therefore ask you for a little more patience and hope to see you all soon.
EERDERE BERICHTGEVING 7 MEI
Afgelopen woensdag 6 mei is bekend geworden dat zwembaden vanaf maandag 11 mei weer open mogen. Natuurlijk kunnen we niet wachten om weer te beginnen! Achter de schermen zijn we bezig met de voorbereidingen. Het wachten is nu o.a. op de landelijke protocollen en het Sterrenbad. Er komt organisatorisch en technisch nog e.a. bij kijken. Zodra meer duidelijk is, zullen we het jullie z.s.m. laten weten. Nog even geduld dus!

Last Wednesday, May 6, it was announced that swimming pools may open again from Monday, May 11. Of course we can't wait to start again! We are busy behind the scenes but now have to wait for the national protocols and the Sterrenbad. Many organizational and technical details are still involved. As soon as we have more information we will let you know asap. So be patient!

Aan alle leden van WZK zwemmen,
Het coronavirus heeft inmiddels voor een enorme impact op ons leven en onze maatschappij gezorgd. De gezondheid van ons allemaal en de medische zorg voor de mensen die besmet geraakt zijn hebben op alle niveaus – centrale overheid, gemeentelijk bestuur en binnen onze directe omgeving – prioriteit boven alles momenteel.
Al een aantal weken hebben de door de centrale overheid genomen maatregelen om de verspreiding van het coronavirus af te remmen ook alle activiteiten van onze vereniging stil gelegd. Het Sterrenbad is minimaal tot 1 juni gesloten en de KNZB heeft besloten alle lopende competities per direct te beëindigen. Er worden in juni ook geen afrondende promotie / degradatiewedstrijden of (jeugd)kampioenschappen meer gezwommen of gespeeld.
Al met al leven we dus met veel onzekerheden en ook wij van het Bestuur kunnen niet voorspellen wat de nabije toekomst ons gaat brengen. Het is nog onduidelijk wanneer het weer mogelijk is om samen te kunnen trainen. Het sluiten van het zwembad tot 1 juni is een ‘harde datum’, maar als de ontwikkeling van de corona-besmetting dat vraagt, kan dit ook nog langer gaan duren. Derhalve verwachten wij helaas gedurende de rest van dit seizoen geen WZK activiteiten meer.
Wat de consequenties voor het seizoen 2020 – 2021 zullen zijn, wordt op dit moment met de KNZB en de betrokken verenigingen besproken, maar wij hopen natuurlijk dat wij het nieuwe seizoen met alles weer van start kunnen gaan.
Het Bestuur heeft voorlopig een aantal besluiten genomen over een aantal lopende zaken:
- We zullen transparant blijven communiceren met alle leden. Dit zal vooral via de website en de vertegenwoordigers van de verschillende afdelingen in het bestuur verlopen. Aarzel vooral niet om contact op te nemen met een commissie- of bestuurslid mocht u toch nog vragen hebben
- Het is erg belangrijk dat onze vereniging een evenwichtig en verantwoord financieel beleid voert om deze crisis te kunnen overleven. Daarnaast begrijpen wij volledig dat ook onze leden in deze moeilijke tijd ‘op de kleintjes’ moeten letten. De betaling van contributie wordt bewust al over het jaar gespreid, maar juist de komende maanden kan het voor veel mensen wel eens ‘krap’ worden. De volgende inning van de verenigingscontributie is op 22 mei. Het Bestuur is momenteel in gesprek met de belangrijkste partijen aan wie wij lopende verplichtingen hebben: met name de Gemeente Wassenaar, het Sterrenbad en KNZB. Echter, helaas hebben wij nog geen duidelijkheid wat dit voor WZK financieel gaat betekenen. Toch willen niet langer wachten met het verschaffen van duidelijkheid naar onze leden met betrekking tot de contributie voor het tweede kwartaal. Het Bestuur heeft daarom besloten om de contributie over de komende 3 maanden voor alle leden van WZK te halveren. Dit is voorlopig een eenmalige maatregel en wij hopen u meer duidelijkheid te kunnen verschaffen als ook wij beter weten waar de vereniging qua kosten aan toe is. Helaas lopen veel kosten voor onze vereniging wel gewoon door gedurende deze crisistijd en wij vragen daarom uw begrip en solidariteit om de vereniging overeind te houden
- Ons voornemen is om onze Algemene Ledenvergadering (ALV) aan het begin van het nieuwe seizoen te houden. Wij hopen natuurlijk dat dit tegen die tijd weer is toegestaan en weer verantwoord zal zijn. Nadere berichtgeving volgt met betrekking tot de exacte datum, agenda en de ALV vergaderstukken
- Onze jaarlijkse barbecue die normaal gehouden wordt aan het eind van ons seizoen, zal nu worden gehouden aan het begin van ons nieuwe 2020 – 2021 seizoen (eind augustus of begin september). Ook hier volgt een exacte datum zo snel mogelijk
We hopen u hiermee voldoende te hebben geïnformeerd en kijken er naar uit om over niet al te lange tijd elkaar weer gezond en wel in en buiten het zwembad te kunnen treffen.

To all members of WZK swimming,
The corona virus has now caused a huge impact on our lives and our society. The health of all of us and medical care for the people, who have become infected, have at all levels – central government, municipal government and within our immediate environment – priority above all at present.
For several weeks now, the measures taken by the central government to slow down the spread of the coronavirus have also shut down all the activities of WZK. The Sterrenbad is closed at least until June 1st and the KNZB has decided to terminate all current competitions for the remaining of the season.
All in all, we live with many uncertainties and we too cannot predict what the near future will bring us. It is still unclear when it will be possible to train together again. Closing the pool until June 1 is a 'hard date', but if the development of the corona contamination requires that, it may also take even longer. Unfortunately, we therefore do not expect any more WZK activities for the remainder of this season.
What the consequences for the 2020 – 2021 season will be, are being discussed with the KNZB and the associations involved at the moment, but of course we hope that we are able to start all activities again at the beginning of our new season.
For the time being, the Board has taken a number of decisions on several current matters:
- We will continue to communicate transparently with all members. This will mainly be done via the website and the representatives of the various departments on the board. Don't hesitate to contact a committee or board member if you still have further questions
- It is very important that the association has a balanced and responsible financial policy in order to survive this crisis. In addition, we fully understand that our members could also face financial pressures during this difficult time. The payment of dues is deliberately spread over the year, but it may be 'tight' for many people in the coming months. The next collection of the association contribution is on May 22nd. The Board is currently in talks with the main parties to whom we have current obligations: in particular the Municipality of Wassenaar, the Sterrenbad and KNZB. However, unfortunately we do not yet have any clarity as to what this will mean financially for WZK. However, we do not want to wait any longer to provide clarity to our members regarding the contribution for the second quarter. The Board has therefore decided to halve the contribution over the next 3 months for all members of This is a one-off measure for the time being and we hope to be able to provide you with more clarity when we also have a better understanding what the final financial impact is for the association. Unfortunately, many costs for our association continue during this time of crisis and we therefore ask for your understanding and solidarity to keep the association afloat
- Our intention is to conduct the General Members Meeting (ALV) at the beginning of the new season. We hope, of course, that by then this will be possible again. Further information will follow shortly regarding the exact date, agenda and ALV meeting documents
- Our annual barbecue, which is normally held at the end of the season, will now be held at the beginning of our new 2020 – 2021 season (late August or early September). Here too, an exact date will be set as soon as possible
We hope to have clarified some burning questions and look forward to being able to meet you all again in and out of the swimming pool in the foreseeable future and hopefully all in a healthy state.

Alle zwemactiviteiten afgelast i.v.m. Corona - All activities cancelled due to Corona
NOC*NSF adviseert haar leden om alle clubbijeenkomsten - waaronder sportwedstrijden – tot en met 1 juni af te gelasten.
Vanmiddag heeft de Nederlandse regering nieuwe maatregelen genomen ter bestrijding van de verspreiding van het coronavirus. In het kort komen die er op neer dat wat begin van de week het advies was voor Noord-Brabant, nu voor heel Nederland geldt en tot en met 1 juni.
Vandaar dat NOC*NSF opnieuw, en nu voor heel Nederland met klem adviseren alle sportevenementen waaronder de competitie-, oefen en trainingswedstrijden af te gelasten. In ieder geval tot en met 1 juni.
Ook sociale contacten sterk verminderen
Het kabinet heeft voor heel Nederland ook opgeroepen sociale contacten in het algemeen sterk te verminderen. Deze oproep wordt door NOC*NSF ondersteund door de Nederlandse sport op te roepen om alle andere clubbijeenkomsten zoals trainingen, overleggen, vergaderingen en vieringen ook af te gelasten.
De KNZB heeft conform de vandaag bekendgemaakte richtlijnen van het kabinet en het RIVM besloten alle competities die door de zwembond worden georganiseerd in het gehele land stop te zetten tot en met 1 juni. De KNZB adviseert daarnaast alle verenigingen om geen verenigingsactiviteiten te organiseren tot en met 1 juni. Naast de wedstrijden geldt dit advies dus ook voor het leszwemmen, trainingen en andere activiteiten die in verenigingsverband plaatsvinden.
Op basis van dit advies heeft het bestuur van WZK Zwemmen besloten om alle activiteiten t/m 1 juni af te gelasten.

NOC*NSF (DUTCH OLYMPIC COMMITTEE * DUTCH SPORTS CONFEDERATION) advises its members to cancel all club meetings - including sports matches - until June 1st.
This afternoon, the Dutch government took new measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus. In short, the advice at the beginning of the week to the province of Noord-Brabant, now applies to the whole of the Netherlands until 1st of June.
That is why NOC*NSF again, and now for the whole of the Netherlands, strongly recommend that all sports events, including competition, practice and training matches, be canceled. At least until June 1st.
Also reduce social contacts
For the whole of the Netherlands, the Cabinet has also called for a sharp reduction in social contacts in general. This call is supported by NOC*NSF by calling on Dutch sports to cancel all other club meetings such as training, consultations, meetings and celebrations.
In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Cabinet and RIVM today, the KNZB (Royal Dutch Swimming Federation) has decided to stop all competitions organized by the swimming federation throughout the country until 1st June. The KNZB also advises all associations not to organize association activities until 1st June. In addition to the competitions, this advice also applies to lesson swimming, training and other activities that take place in an association.
Based on this advice, the board of WZK Zwemmen has decided to cancel all activities until June 1st.
